World War II Novelists Jan Eliasberg and Kristin Harmel

The Roth Family JCC is thrilled to welcome two visiting authors whose latest novels take the reader on immersive and inspiring journeys during World War II. In Hannah’s War, Jan Eliasberg tells a gripping cat-and-mouse tale of love, war, deception, and espionage, set against the backdrop of World War II. In detailing the journey of an extraordinary heroine inspired by a real-life female physicist, Jan elevates the spy thriller with her clear, fierce admiration for the women of the past who refused to be edged out of the world of scientific discovery. Kristin Harmel’s The Winemaker’s Wife is a stirring story set in France during the early 1940s as well present day, told primarily from three different perspectives. The Winemaker’s Wife is about life, love, loss, deception, determination, perseverance, resistance efforts, intricacies of winemaking, and the importance of forgiveness.
