Guest Speaker: Katie Warner, Audubon Center for Birds of Prey

Katie Gill Warner is Center Director of Audubon Center for Birds of Prey in Maitland, FL.  The Center is an urban environmental Center focused raptor rehabilitation, conservation and education. In this role she is responsible for creating and implementing sustainability strategies, with input from a community advisory committee, to ensure the Center’s long-term financial viability and success in Central Florida. She manages all areas of the Center’s operations including fundraising initiatives, marketing, clinical and rehabilitation work, conservation education, and citizen science. The Center is part of the Audubon Florida state program, where Katie is part of the state leadership team in addition to being a member of the National Audubon Center Directors team. Katie Gill Warner received her BS degree in Biology from the University of Alabama with a focus on studies in Environmental Science. She began her career with Audubon as a member of the Policy Team, working on habitat and conservation issues. Now with Audubon for 20 years, she works to bring new partners and constituencies to Audubon Center for Birds of Prey to involve and include them in Audubon’s mission of creating a culture of conservation among all Floridians.
